Vintage Fred Harvey Era Coin Silver Turquoise Whirling Log Cuff Bracelet

$165.00

This is an example of a Pre WW-II Fred Harvey era bracelet, which has several symbolic stampings including the whirling log (there are two small ones in the front). The whirling log symbol was used by Native American tribes including the Navajo, Hopi, Tohono O'odham and Apache as a symbol of prosperity and wisdom long before WWII when the similar-looking swastika symbol was used by Hitler as the symbol of the Third Reich. Though the symbol used by Hitler had no connection whatsoever to the Native American symbol, the use of the whirling logs symbol by the aforementioned Native American tribes was largely discontinued after WWII. A fine example of wearable Native American artistry and history!

This turquoise cabochon that has a beautiful patina for its age. This is a small bracelet, please double check your wrist measurements to make sure this will fit you.

6” circumference including a 1.5” gap.
